History and treatment of my stuttering

Hello to all forum members, I would like to share my story about stuttering and the fight against it, I have been stuttering since childhood, rather because I wanted to quickly say a thought, and then later because of fear. I did not have complexes about this, until school days, when it was necessary to answer questions asked by the teacher.

This barrier that formed in my throat did not allow me to say a word. I noticed that if I speak confidently, the stuttering goes away. I was treated by a speech therapist, using a special device called BOS, I want to say right away that this is not an advertisement, I am simply telling about the experience of treatment.

After completing these courses, I seem to notice some result, the stuttering is gone, I can speak completely calmly on various topics, I felt ease in pronunciation, and I didn’t think about what word I should say to stutter less.

But the stuttering came back, it came very unnoticeably, and it became stronger than before. This was the period when I despaired. Of course, later I went to a speech therapist again, studied with him for a very long time, but without results. The stuttering came again, and it remained.

Let me tell you a little about the peculiarity of my stuttering, I stutter on the first syllables of a word, or on the last word in a sentence. I don't sway or blink my eyes, or have any other convulsive movements when I stutter, I fall into a kind of stupor, freeze for one and a half, maybe two seconds, until I overcome this block and pronounce the word.

Stuttering is something of a taboo for me, first of all it stops me from starting new conversations, being open and sociable, and I have a lot of complexes about it.

While surfing the Internet, I came across the site www.axwap.com and saw an application for speech delay, after downloading I started to act, and I immediately began to have success, now I am studying on a delay of 50 ms, and I think that I will be able to increase the delay in the future. I want to say that stuttering is not a disease, but a defect.

The defect by its nature can be removed. In conclusion, I would like to say that even if stuttering does not go away or it is not possible to cure it completely, thanks to exercises and various methods, you can significantly improve your speech and perfect it, and against the background of your brilliant speech, stuttering will look like an unnoticeable habit or feature.

On my own behalf I would like to add that there is nothing shameful in the fact that you stutter, speak as much as you want and where you want, go ahead to success and dare!
